As many of you are aware, we have seen a significant increase in the use of participants on the KAREN HD Bridge. This has been great to see over the past couple of months as people have embraced video conferencing as a viable means of collaborating around the country and across the world.
Along with this increase on usage comes many new obstacles that we are starting to see appear, particularly the issue caused by the Bridge reaching its peak capacity.
At its current state, the KAREN Bridge can only support at any given time a maximum of:
- 12 video connections
- 12 audio/telephone connections
- 24 web streaming viewers
The image to the right (click to enlarge) is designed to visually represent the way in which the bridge operates and assigns ports.
If you are experiencing issues connecting to the bridge, it may be because it is already at peak capacity at that time, but if you are uncertain call us on 0800 666 889 and we can help make sure there is not another problem causing your connection to be refused.
REANNZ are currently in the process of looking at ways to increase the capacity of the KAREN Bridge to allow more participants to be online.
