AARNet Video Bridge - Connection Details

Introduction

This page will help assist users connecting to the AARNet Bridge using a variety of different endpoints. Please follow the instructions according to your unit type.

Dialling the AARNet Bridge

To dial the AARNet Bridge from an H.323 endpoint, you can connect via the following methods:

IP Based Units

202.158.196.20      

 

ISDN Based Units
The AARNet Bridge has the ability to connect ISDN connections into scheduled meetings. An E.164 number is provided via email upon booking to allow ISDN units and telephones to dial directly into the scheduled meeting. 

Please note: As this ISDN service is currently in Australia, toll charges will apply for calls orginating from New Zealand.

 

Telephone
To connect to a meeting via your telephone or mobile, you can dial directly the E.164 number provided you to enter the meeting. Please be sure to add the necessary International dialing prefixes to the number eg. 00 61 262 112 609 .

Navigating the Selecting Meetings on the AARNet Bridge Menu

Option 1 - Far End Camera Control Option

  • Once connected to the Bridge you will need to enable Far End Camera Control on your remote. This is done in a variety of ways depending on your endpoint make and model. Usually there will be a button stating "Far End" or "Far Site Control".
  • You can then use the Up and Down arrows on your remote control to navigate the menu and to select the meeting you wish to join.
  • Once you have scrolled down using the Up and Down arrows on your remote to the desired meeting, press the Right Arrow button to join.
    Please note: Some meetings may have a PIN number associated to the room, be sure to enable DTMF on your remote to enter the PIN number and then press #.

 

Option 2 - DTMF Option

  • Once connected to the Bridge, you can use the  touch tone numbers (DTMF) on your remote control to enter a meeting room. Ensure that your endpoint has DTMF enabled first before entering the Meeting ID number.
  • Enter the Meeting ID number of the room you wish to enter and press the "#" key.
  • The Bridge will now direct you to your meeting.
