Scopia Desktop is a software based solution for connecting users on computers to the KAREN Video Bridge.

This allows anyone across New Zealand and around the world to simply download the software package and login to view and participate in videoconferencing meetings.

Scopia desktop can be used from anywhere:

  • Computers on the KAREN Network - New Zealand Universities, Crown Research Institutes, and other organisations.
  • Computers outside the network on commodity internet, or on other ARENs. Scopia is perfectly capable of connecting you to meetings from your home, or when on the move with a laptop.

Scopia is a FREE software solution. To download and install Scopia please go to the Scopia Desktop - Installation section.

While anyone may install Scopia for use, to hold meetings there should be at least one user present who belongs to an organisation which is a member of the KAREN Video Conference Service.
